Twenty Fourth Sunday of Ordered Time

Presider: Listen, all you gathered for learning, for sharing our blessings, and for praying. We have heard God helps us, opening our ears, encouraging us to help others. Let us offer prayers to the Father whose love for us is without limits.

 

Deacon/ Lector/ Cantor: Please respond: “Lord, hear our prayer.”

 

1.That Pope Francis, Bishop __________, clergy, and all of us be attentive to the Word of God coming to us in Scripture, in the Spirit, in Creation, and in our community, we pray...

 

2. That persecution and suffering be endured knowing that the Lord shall not put us to shame when we count on the Lord’s presence, we pray...

 

3. That we walk our life’s journey before the Lord with confidence in the
abiding presence of Lord’s mercy and guidance, we pray...

 

4. That we practice our faith through good works by supporting the poor, accompanying those physically or mentally ill, and comforting those who have lost a loved one, we pray...

 

5. That those who have died this past week and those who will pass through the portal of death this week be welcomed into the Kingdom of God by the Lord and his saints, we pray...

 

6. That persons suffering from domestic violence or abuse receive help and resources to begin a new life of freedom, we pray...

 

7. That through our prayers and attention, diplomats and political leaders discover and apply the means to end war, we pray...

 

8. That we pray... for each other for our intentions and needs (Pause), we pray...

 

Presider: Father, hear these our prayers and reach with mercy, compassion, and loving kindness into our hearts and minds. We offer our needs to you in the name of your Son, Jesus, who is Lord forever and ever.
