Solemnity of Christ the King

Presider: How worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and God’s glory and wisdom, strength, and honor. God will hear our prayers through this Lamb, the Son of Man. With confidence, let us pray.

 

Deacon/ Lector/ Cantor: Please respond: “Lord, hear our prayer.”

 

1.That our King, the Lamb of God provide Wisdom, strength, and honor to Pope Francis, Bishop _______, and all who toil in the vineyard of the Lord, we pray...

2. That the faithful understand God’s command to dominate creation means for us to tend, care for, and make flourish all people and the whole universe, we pray...

3. That elected officials at all levels in our nation commit to service of the common good of all, we pray...

4. That the faithful of our parish realize they have authority to bless their families and their work because they are baptized as priests in their religious and secular lives, we pray...

5. That the faithful of our parish apply their truth discerning and telling because they are baptized as prophets, we pray...

6. That the faithful of our parish apply their responsibility to serve others because they are baptized as queens and kings, we pray...

7. That our parish members who are physically, mentally, and spiritually ill are accompanied by our members and brought to healing by the skill and wisdom of those who tend them, we pray...

8. That victims of violence, of abuse, of economic manipulation, of political intrigue, and especially of war will discover peace and resources to strengthen them to live fully God’s gift of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, we pray...

9. That police, emergency medical workers, soldiers, statespersons, and teachers focus their talents and efforts for the safety and well-being of those in their care, we pray...

10. That members of our parish who died this week (identify each here) and those entering the portal that is death are welcomed into the Kingdom of our Lord. That all join in prayer for the intention of this Mass (state that intention) we pray... to the Lord,

11. Let us take a moment to add our personal intentions: (pause) Let us place these intentions on the altar with our gifts in support of our parish’s work, we pray...

 

Presider: Heavenly Father, you who created and maintain us; listen kindly to these requests. Look into the heart of each person gathered here and heal what is broken. In the name of your Son, our Lord and King, lift up those who have fallen, mend relationships and strengthen the efforts and love of those who care for our church. We ask this of you in the name of Jesus through the Holy Spirit that unites you and us to you now and forever.
