FAITH BOOK 3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time (A)January 25, 2026 Isaiah 8: 23-9:3; Psalm 27; I Corinthians 1: 10-13; Matthew 4: 12-23 By: Jude Siciliano, OP
Mini-reflections on the Sunday scripture readings designed for persons on the run. “Faith Book” is also brief enough to be posted in the Sunday parish bulletins people take home. From today’s Isaiah reading:
The people who have walked in darkness have seen a great light, upon those who dwelt in the land of gloom a light has shone
Reflection:
If we have turned to Jesus, as he invites us today, then we are reflectors of his light – we are light bearers. He calls us again to be part of the fulfillment of Isaiah’s promise: to bring light into the darkness, joy for those in gloom and distress.
So, we ask ourselves:
· As I look around my personal landscape what darkness to I perceive? · What can I do to bring light into that darkness, relief to those who are in “a land of gloom?”
