GENERAL INTERCESSIONS

Fourth Sunday of Advent (Cycle A)

December 21, 2025

Deacon/Reader:

1.     For Pope Leo and Bishop Luis, as they shepherd us to be opened to God’s Plan, that He conceives for the gift of our life, we pray to the Lord…

2.     Following the example of Saint Joseph, for all husbands and fathers that they may be strengthened in their vocation to love their wife, to cherish their children, and to be an example of knowing and loving God, we pray to the Lord…

3.     For safety among all travelers, especially during these sacred and festive days, and for our Military and our First Responders, as they serve, we pray to the Lord…

4.     For all those who are ill, those meeting the challenges of infirmity and those with chronic illness, that the coming of Christ may renew their courage, make firm their strength and console them through faith, we pray to the Lord…

5.     That those set on war and injustice, be opened to peace by the messengers God sends, especially where there is war between peoples and violence continues to plague the heart, we pray to the Lord…

6.     And for our personal intentions, as we offer them now in silence (pause)…we place these on this altar, together with all our gifts, in support of the mission and Life of the Church, we pray to the Lord…

7.     That the dying be blessed with a peaceful death, and those now with Our Lord, know the beauty of His mercy and the fullness of His Life at the Banquet Feast of Heaven…

8.     … and for the repose of the soul of ____________ for whom Mass is being offered, we pray to the Lord…

Celebrant: Loving Father, hear us and with the nearness of Our Savior's birth, help us to be ever attentive to His Voice, as we pray in His Holy Name, through Christ our Lord.

R: Amen.
